Location Overview:

This school has three campuses throughout the Florence area, hosting classes from Nursery / age 3 to Secondary School / age 18. Job Overview:

As a Middle school teacher you will be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of English language and literature courses to middle school students (Grades 6-8).
Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching the Ontario Curriculum ensuring the programs are relevant, engaging and fit for purpose
• Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting are of the highest quality and meet the varying learning and social needs of students
• Create a classroom environment that is inclusive and where all students feel comfortable expressing their views, opinions and needs
• To demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge, teach and assess effectively and take active responsibility for student progress
• Use tracking, monitoring and intervention processes to advance student learning
• Communicate effectively to the school's stakeholders, being an ambassador for the school at all times

Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Education OR Bachelor's degree in English or a closely related field
• Teaching certification
• Prior experience in an international school environment is desirable.
• Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning in preparation for examinations.
• Strong IT skills, ability to use multiple platforms and engage students in 21st century learning using relevant tech.
