Job Opportunity: Merchandise Planner in Milan

To strengthen our team for the Southern European Sales Region, we are seeking an eager and enthusiastic Merchandise Planner in a growing fashion company based in Milan.

The Southern European sales region includes Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, and Malta, with its HQ in Milan.

The Merchandise Planner supports planning and forecasting processes for the brand to ensure the achievement of financial objectives. This role provides strategic and analytical support throughout the product lifecycle (pre-season and in-season) and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to meet sales, gross margin, and investment goals.

General Responsibilities
  1. Partner with product merchandisers and participate in collection briefing.
  2. Analyze product and collection performance, providing input on collection evolution and in-season actions to boost sales.
  3. Coordinate with the Product Merchandiser on the EOS Process.
  4. Work closely with the subregional allocator to ensure proper coverage and maximize sales and ST% in retail channels.
Key Responsibilities

Collection Performance and Stock Control – 80%

  1. Work with South European stakeholders for weekly checks and reports.
  2. Manage stock ownership tasks, providing sell-in and sell-out data for ongoing and past seasons, cooperating on forecasting and buying activities for wholesale and retail channels.
  3. Provide market reports and feedback on SKU performance, size splits, and store grading to optimize operations.
  4. Participate in periodic meetings with the South merchandiser and commercial team for alignment and analysis.

Allocation – 20%

  1. Coordinate efficient stock movement between stores to optimize sell-through.
  2. Manage end-of-season returns and stock movements to outlets.
  3. Analyze sold products and stock levels across stores.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media Management, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of marketing principles and latest technologies.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity, service orientation, and budget awareness.
  • Accountability, reliability, initiative, energy, and teamwork.
  • Independent, confident, positive attitude.
Education & Experience
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the fashion industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 1 year in a merchandising role, preferably in an international retail organization.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Excel.
Mobility & Languages
  • Occasional travel.
  • Languages: Fluent English and Italian (both written and spoken); French (advanced); Spanish (basic).
