  • About the role

As a Medical Scientific Liaison, you will play a vital role in the organization by developing relationships and engaging in scientific exchange with influential medical and scientific Key External Expert.

You will also have the opportunity, resources, and guidance to accelerate your career and within the Field medical space and beyond.

  • Engage in scientific exchange in which knowledge about product(s), disease(s) and therapeutic areas is shared to ensure safe and effective use of Astellas products and engage in discussions regarding evolving trends in disease state management, trends in therapy. Engages external stakeholders' one-on-one interactions and group settings, demonstrating an excellent scientific and clinical knowledge as well as an understanding of stakeholder needs
  • Respond to unsolicited medical and scientific inquiries
  • Provide Astellas with actionable scientific, medical and competitive insights and intelligence gained during scientific exchange and assess possible impact on Astellas initiatives
  • Provide input to local / regional Medical Plan for both strategies and tactics
  • Maintain medical and scientific knowledge and staying current to enable peer-to-peer scientific exchange. This can include, but not be limited to, attendance to medical / scientific congresses, evaluate relevant scientific literature, and complete continuous education and self-learning courses
  • Identify KEEs in alignment with Medical Strategy and develop and maintain professional relationships with Key External Experts (KEE). Providing support to and engage in scientific exchange with KEEs
  • In Research support, identify investigators and recommending sites for Medical Affairs and / or Development sponsored studies upon request from M&D and engage with Investigators about their research capabilities as appropriate
  • About you
  • Knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry and / or in the medical field (e.g. Medical Affairs, Product Management, Clinical Research or Academia)
  • Proven experience in nephrology or related therapeutic areas
  • Proven strategic mindset
  • Team player but also able to work independently
  • Education / Qualifications
  • You have a master's degree in a health-related science and a PhD Masters or PhD
