Medical Science Liaison – Northern Italy
Location: Lombardy region, Italy (Remote with field travel)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel Requirement: Approximately 60–70% (field-based)
Position Summary
This field-based role is responsible for engaging with healthcare professionals and scientific leaders across Northern Italy to provide medical and scientific expertise in therapeutic areas including hematology and oncology. The role supports ongoing clinical development, medical education, and the broader medical strategy in alignment with national and regional objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Scientific Engagement:
- Act as a trusted scientific resource, delivering accurate, fair-balanced, and up-to-date medical information to healthcare professionals. Facilitate scientific dialogue and respond to medical inquiries with credible, evidence-based answers.
- Stakeholder Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain peer-level relationships with external experts, including clinicians, researchers, and academic leaders. Support activities such as advisory boards, speaker training, and research collaborations.
- Medical Affairs Support:
- Contribute to the implementation of medical plans and provide field insights to inform strategic decisions. Support initiatives such as investigator-sponsored studies, medical education events, and congress participation.
- Insight Collection & Reporting:
- Gather and communicate field-based insights to inform cross-functional teams and enhance understanding of therapeutic trends, clinical practice, and emerging evidence.
- Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure activities comply with local regulations and industry codes of conduct. Maintain ethical standards and uphold internal company policies and procedures, including pharmacovigilance and data protection obligations.
Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MSc) in a relevant field.
- Prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in clinical/research settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the healthcare and regulatory environment in Italy.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English and Italian.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
