We connect, communicate, and train internal employees to ensure a thorough understanding of the science behind the medicine and review unmet medical needs to support collaboration and differentiate our portfolio.

The Opportunity

We are seeking to join our Company Medical Affairs team to support medical objectives. This role reports to the Medical Affairs Respiratory and Immunology Lead and is based in the field within the Central Northern Italy regions.

Role Overview

A Medical / Senior Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) is a field-based disease state expert supporting strategic and scientific objectives by exchanging scientific information with scientific leaders about an assigned product and therapeutic area (TA). The MSL facilitates balanced, scientific, peer-to-peer discussions to assess standards of care and research opportunities, collecting insights on gaps and data needs from the healthcare community.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Engage in non-promotional scientific exchange with Scientific Leaders and Key Decision Makers (KDMs).
  • Implement Field Medical Engagement Plans in compliance with local and global policies, SOPs, and regulations.
  • Maintain expertise in the therapeutic area, including major studies, product information, clinical data, and pipeline updates.
  • Interact with Scientific Leaders and healthcare administrators, exchanging balanced medical/scientific information.
  • Use scientific expertise to communicate information through presentations.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests with approved scientific materials, documenting interactions appropriately.
  • Share insights on scientific gaps and ideas internally to inform clinical trial, development, and strategic planning.
  • Provide on-label medical insights and training to internal teams about products and disease states.
  • Participate in scientific congresses to stay informed on emerging data relevant to patient treatment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Stay well-prepared on scientific data and regulatory requirements.
  • Commit to ongoing education to maintain knowledge.
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple internal teams.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Medical degree preferred; specialization in Cardiology or Pulmonology desirable.
  • Alternative advanced degrees (PharmD, PhD, Biologist, BS in Pharmacy) considered with relevant clinical or industry experience.
  • Experience in Pulmonary Hypertension is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with clinical trials management or investigation is a plus.
  • Clinical network experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to learn and convey complex medical/scientific information.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 70%).
  • Fluency in English is highly valued.
