Job Overview

For our dynamic and innovative Brands division within a well-established international pharmaceutical company, we are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs field professional. This role requires someone who dares to think beyond traditional pharma MSL roles and wishes to operate autonomously in an entrepreneurial manner. The position offers broad development opportunities through engagement in all aspects of the business and the management of your own daily activities.

Team and Reporting

You will join a team of three Medical Managers in Italy, responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and execution of medical projects. You will also support Sales and Marketing colleagues, with a demonstrable ability to identify commercial opportunities. The role requires residence in Italy and fluency in English for communication with the European Management team, which is based across Europe, including offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects, including publications and advisory boards.
  2. Build and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs, influencers, and healthcare leaders using evidence-based information.
  3. Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange in melanoma.
  4. Assist with Early Access Program requests from healthcare professionals for melanoma patients.
  5. Support business activities related to Odomzo (sonidegib) for locally advanced basal cell carcinoma in Italy.
  6. Lead the approval process for investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progress.
  7. Disseminate clinical and scientific information about marketed and pipeline products in a timely, compliant, and ethical manner.
  8. Establish and support networks in Derma-oncology and other therapeutic areas.
  9. Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to healthcare professional inquiries.
  10. Assist colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content support.
Education and Qualifications
  • Mandatory: (bio)medical or scientific academic degree.
  • Driver’s license.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an MSL or Medical Manager in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Native Italian speaker and fluent in English.
  • Desirable: Experience in Dermatology or Oncology.
  • Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Italy.
