Job Overview

For our dynamic and innovative Brands division within an established international pharmaceutical company, we seek an experienced Medical Affairs field professional. This role requires someone willing to think beyond traditional pharma MSL roles and operate autonomously in an entrepreneurial manner. It offers the opportunity to develop broadly by engaging in all aspects of the business and managing your own daily activities.

Team and Reporting

You will be part of a team of 3 Medical Managers in Italy, responsible for developing and executing Medical Affairs strategies and projects. You will also support Sales and Marketing colleagues, requiring a demonstrable affinity for identifying commercial opportunities. The candidate must reside in Italy and speak English for communication with the European Management team, which is based in various locations across Europe, including Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects, including publications and advisory boards.
  2. Build and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and influencers in the scientific and healthcare communities, based on scientific evidence.
  3. Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange, particularly in melanoma.
  4. Assist with Early Access Program requests from HCPs for melanoma patients.
  5. Provide business support for the Italian marketing, commercial, and market access activities related to Odomzo (sonidegib) for basal cell carcinoma.
  6. Lead the approval process for investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progress.
  7. Disseminate clinical and scientific information about marketed and pipeline compounds in a compliant and ethical manner.
  8. Establish and support networks in Derma-oncology and other potential therapeutic areas.
  9. Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to healthcare professional inquiries.
  10. Support colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content support.
Education & Qualifications
  • Mandatory: (Bio)medical or scientific academic degree.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an MSL or Medical Manager in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Fluent in Italian (native) and English.
  • Desirable: Experience in Dermatology or Oncology.
  • Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Italy.
