Job Description: Medical Affairs Professional in Italy

For our dynamic, growing, and innovative Brands division within a well-established international pharmaceutical company, we are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs field professional. This role requires someone who dares to think beyond the typical pharma MSL role and wishes to operate autonomously in an entrepreneurial manner. The position offers opportunities for broad development by engaging in all aspects of the business and managing your own daily activities.

You will be part of a team of three Medical Managers in Italy, responsible for developing and executing Medical Affairs strategies and projects, including scientific publications and advisory boards. You will also support Sales and Marketing colleagues, with a demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities. Residency in Italy and fluency in English are required for communication with the European Management team, which is based in various locations across Europe, including Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects.
  2. Build peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and healthcare leaders, utilizing scientific and evidence-based information.
  3. Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange, particularly in melanoma.
  4. Assist with Early Access Program requests from HCPs for melanoma patients.
  5. Provide business support for Italian marketing, commercial, and market access activities related to Odomzo (sonidegib) for basal cell carcinoma.
  6. Lead the approval process for investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progress.
  7. Disseminate clinical and scientific information about marketed and pipeline products in a timely, ethical, and compliant manner.
  8. Develop and support networks in Derma-oncology and other therapeutic areas.
  9. Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to healthcare professional inquiries.
  10. Assist colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content support.
Education & Qualifications
  • Mandatory: (Bio)medical or scientific academic degree.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an MSL or Medical Manager in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least one year of experience in a commercial function within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Native Italian speaker and fluent in English.
  • Desirable: Dermatology or Oncology experience.
  • Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Italy.
