For our dynamic growing, innovative Brands division within an already established big generic International pharmaceutical company, we are looking for an experienced Medical Affairs field professional who dares to look outside the clear-cut frames of a common big pharma MSL job and who wants to operate in an autonomous entrepreneurial way. This job offers you the opportunity to develop in the broadest sense by being engaged in all aspects of the business and manage your own daily work.

You will join a team of 3 Medical Managers in Italy, responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and execution of medical projects, as well as providing Medical Affairs support to Sales and Marketing colleagues, with a demonstrable affinity for identifying commercial opportunities. You live in Italy and are fluent in English for communication with the European Management team, which is based across Europe with offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe.

Major tasks & responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects such as publications and advisory boards.
  2. Identify and cultivate peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs and other influencers within the scientific and healthcare community, utilizing evidence-based information.
  3. Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange, particularly in melanoma.
  4. Assist with Early Access Program requests from HCPs in Italy for melanoma patients.
  5. Provide business support to Italian marketing, commercial, and market access teams for Odomzo (sonidegib) indicated for locally advanced basal cell carcinoma.
  6. Lead the process for approval of investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progression.
  7. Disseminate clinical and scientific information about marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, compliant, and ethical manner.
  8. Build and support networks in Derma-oncology and other potential therapeutic areas.
  9. Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to healthcare professional inquiries.
  10. Support colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content support.
Education and Qualifications
  • Mandatory: (Bio)medical or scientific academic degree.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of MSL or Medical Manager experience in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Desirable: Dermatology or Oncology experience.
  • Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Italy.
