For our dynamic, growing, and innovative Brands division within an established international pharmaceutical company, we are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs field professional. This role requires someone willing to think beyond the traditional big pharma MSL job and operate autonomously with an entrepreneurial spirit. It offers the opportunity to develop broadly by engaging in all aspects of the business and managing your own daily work.

Team and Reporting

You will join a team of 3 Medical Managers in Italy and will be responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and execution of medical projects. Additionally, you will support Sales and Marketing colleagues, with a demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities. Residency in Italy and fluency in English are required for communication with the European Management team, which is based in various locations across Europe, including Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects, including publications and advisory boards.
  2. Build and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs and other influencers, utilizing evidence-based scientific information.
  3. Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange, particularly in melanoma.
  4. Assist with Early Access Program requests from healthcare professionals in Italy for melanoma patients.
  5. Provide business support to Italian marketing, commercial, and market access teams for Odomzo (sonidegib), indicated for locally advanced basal cell carcinoma.
  6. Lead the approval process for investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progress.
  7. Disseminate clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, compliant, and ethical manner.
  8. Establish and support networks in Derma-oncology and other future therapeutic areas.
  9. Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to unsolicited healthcare professional inquiries.
  10. Support colleagues in organizing healthcare professional events by providing medical content support.
Education and Qualifications
  • Mandatory: (bio)medical or scientific academic degree.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an MSL or Medical Manager in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a commercial function within the industry.
  • Native Italian speaker and fluent in English.
  • Desirable: Experience in Dermatology or Oncology.
  • Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Italy.
