Job Description

For our dynamic growing, innovative Brands division within an already established big generic International pharmaceutical company, we are looking for an experienced Medical Affairs field professional who dares to look outside the clear-cut frames of a common big pharma MSL job and who wants to operate in an autonomous entrepreneurial way. This job offers you the opportunity to develop in the broadest sense by being engaged in all aspects of the business and manage your own daily work.

You will join a team of 3 Medical Managers in Italy, and you will be responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and execution of medical projects. You will also provide Medical Affairs support to the Sales and Marketing colleagues, with a demonstrable affinity for identifying commercial opportunities. You live in Italy and are able to speak English, as communication with the European Management team is required. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe. The European Management team is located at different places across Europe, with offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Develop Medical Affairs strategy and execute medical scientific projects such as publications and advisory boards.
  2. Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs, influencers, and healthcare leaders, utilizing scientific and medical evidence-based information.
  3. Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange in melanoma.
  4. Support Early Access Program requests from HCPs in Italy for melanoma patients.
  5. Provide business support to Italian marketing, commercial, and market access teams for Odomzo (sonidegib) indicated for locally advanced basal cell carcinoma.
  6. Lead the process for approval of investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progression.
  7. Disseminate clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, compliant, and ethical manner.
  8. Develop links with and support national, regional, and local networks in Derma-oncology and future potential therapeutic areas.
  9. Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to unsolicited healthcare professional inquiries.
  10. Support colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content support to speakers.
Education & Qualifications
  1. Mandatory: (bio)medical or scientific academic degree.
  2. Driver’s license.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of MSL or Medical Manager experience in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
  4. At least one year of experience in a commercial function within the pharmaceutical industry.
  5. Native Italian speaker and fluent in English.
  6. Desirable: Dermatology or Oncology experience.
  7. Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Italy.
