Position Summary

The Medical Affairs Specialist (MAS) position will develop and maintain professional relationships with prominent healthcare providers and key decision-makers related to Thermo Fisher Scientific / Clinical Next Generation Sequencing Division products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. The MAS will provide ongoing support for clinical presentations and meetings with key physicians, pathologists, and oncologists as requested by field sales and marketing teams, focusing on the Italian region.
  2. Support Sales Clinical Training by working with the Sales Director to enhance the team’s clinical knowledge.
  3. Support the Marketing Team by developing and reviewing clinical reference tools, sales aids, slide decks, and other resources for field sales teams. Assist in setting up and supporting Advisory Boards, Speaker Trainings, and External Payor Reviews. Prepare medical review slides and materials for sales meetings and conferences.
  4. Design and deliver clinical customer education materials to improve clinicians’ knowledge of molecular testing. Present at conferences, webinars, and workshops on cutting-edge technology and solutions.
  5. Provide medical affairs coverage at key scientific congresses and meetings. Interpret new clinical data and competitive intelligence, reporting findings to stakeholders.
  6. Support relationships with Pharma and CRO partners in Oncology.
  7. Design clinical research studies with collaborators, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines and contractual obligations.
  8. Review clinically related studies, including scope, cost, schedule, risk, and governance.
  9. Manage relationships with clinical working groups and associations to promote adoption of TFS solutions in Pathology and Oncology.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree: MSc or preferably Ph.D., PharmD., or equivalent, with post-doctoral scientific experience and a proven publication record.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Life Science field, preferably in an educational or academic role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong scientific background with excellent communication and teaching skills.
  • Experience in molecular oncology, diagnostics, or pathology.
  • Experience working with key opinion leaders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in Italian and English; French is a plus.
