About the role

Step-changing consumer and customer activation through data-driven precision marketing has been identified as key to fuel growth at Diageo. To do so, a company-wide and lasting transformation is being ignited. This encompasses new synchronized omni-channel and data-driven approaches to consumer and customer activation strategy, activity design and execution, tracking and optimization, performance measurement and understanding, building new capability, as well as new ways of working.

An outstanding opportunity for anyone with a real passion and flair for data-driven media strategy and implementation. This role involves understanding our business challenges with a consumer focus to develop the best media strategy and planning for our markets. You will lead all aspects of both online and offline media for some of our brands, connecting these with a full-funnel approach across other areas and channels of the business (E-commerce, commercial, Customer Marketing, etc.).

You will be part of a team leading Diageo’s annual connections planning process in this specific market, in close collaboration with internal and external partners. We aim to build world-class media plans across all touchpoints and channels that consistently deliver category and brand growth.

Part of the team’s mission is to future-proof our organization and create a differentiated advantage for Diageo by responding to changing consumer, media, and market landscapes in an agile and impactful way.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all media plans for our brands uphold our global media standards
  • Collaborate to deliver fully integrated connection plans, ensuring activity operates seamlessly across the consumer journey
  • Use data and insights to predict trends and campaign impact
  • Drive a performance marketing culture, optimizing media and running test & learn programs
  • Provide media leadership, influencing decisions at all levels internally and externally
  • Understand recruitment / re-recruitment from shopper and consumer perspectives
  • Identify emerging technology trends to connect with consumers, especially in digital and mobile spaces

About you

  • Passionate media expert with strong knowledge of the media landscape, data, measurement, and conversion
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior across all media channels
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is proactive and entrepreneurial
  • At least 5+ years of experience in full-funnel media strategy, planning, and budget setting, especially in e-commerce
  • Strong understanding of the Italian media landscape
  • Confident with digital channels and platforms (social, display, video, PPC, etc.)
  • Experience working with media partners like Google, Meta, and Amazon
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and inspire others
  • Positive energy, analytical skills, and a willingness to develop further
