Job Description:

RINA is recruiting a Mechanical Testing Laboratory Engineer for its Rome office within the Materials & Technologies Division.

Mission

RINA Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali seeks a Lab Engineer for the “Mechanical Testing” team. The laboratory conducts mechanical tests on specimens and components, verifying performance and limits under real or destructive conditions across sectors like steel, oil & gas, aerospace, automotive, and more, including recent focus on hydrogen testing within the Hydra Project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate laboratory activities
  • Supervise test execution
  • Analyze post-test data
  • Draft test reports per standards/customer requests (English included)
  • Develop non-standard test procedures and methods
  • Design/develop components for tests
  • Manage machinery maintenance
  • Support quality assurance and certification processes
  • Assist procurement activities
  • Manage lab logistics
  • Collaborate with team members
  • English language proficiency
  • Physical suitability for lab work
  • Availability to travel (medium term)

The selected candidate will report to the Lab Manager and receive on-the-job training.
