Job summary

Covestro is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Manager for our Filago, Bergamo site in Italy. You will lead the maintenance organization, ensure safety, reliability, and efficient asset management, and drive continuous improvement in collaboration with HSE, Production and Supply Chain.

The role requires 7–10 years in maintenance or reliability engineering within process industries, experience with HAZOP and P&IDs, and a digital mindset leveraging SAP PM/TMM for asset management.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in maintenance or reliability engineering within process industries.
• Experience participating in HAZOP reviews and Process Hazard Analysis activities.
• Solid understanding of industrial equipment, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings; knowledge of ATEX directives and Functional Safety (SIL/PL).
• Proficiency with SAP PM/TMM and interest in digitalization projects applied to asset management.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs to ensure plant reliability and asset availability.
• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance organization, promoting accountability, technical growth, and safety culture.
• Develop long-term spare parts strategies and End-of-Life master plans to ensure business continuity.
• Lead capital investment projects and manage external service providers for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Drive reliability initiatives using RCA and promote Industry 4.0 and AI-driven maintenance.
• Collaborate with HSE, Production, and Supply Chain to support safe and sustainable operations.

Covestro is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join our manufacturing site in Filago (BG). This is a key leadership position within the Engineering organization, offering full responsibility for Maintenance Safety, Reliability, Maintenance Budget and Cost Performance. You will be expected to lead the mechanical maintenance organization through visible leadership, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance Strategy: Define and implement preventive, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance programs to ensure plant reliability and optimal asset availability.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance organization, promoting accountability, technical growth, and a strong safety culture.
• Asset Management: Develop long‑term spare parts strategies and End‑of‑Life (EOL) master plans to ensure business continuity and operational efficiency.
• Project & Contractor Management: Lead capital investment projects and technical improvements, while managing external service providers to ensure quality and cost‑effectiveness.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive reliability initiatives using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and promote the adoption of digital solutions, including Industry 4.0 and AI‑driven maintenance.
• Cross‑functional Collaboration: Partner with HSE, Production, and Supply Chain to support safe and sustainable operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

What You Offer:

• Experience: 7-10 years in maintenance or reliability engineering within process industries (Chemical, Petrochemical, or Plastics preferred).
• Experience participating in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) reviews and Process Hazard Analysis activities.
• Technical Skills: Solid understanding of industrial equipment, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of ATEX directives and Functional Safety (SIL/PL) is highly valued.
• Digital Mindset: Proficiency in SAP PM/TMM and an interest in digitalization projects applied to asset management.
• Leadership: Strong people management skills with the ability to lead organizational change and coordinate international stakeholders.
• Languages: Near‑native proficiency in Italian and fluency in English (written and spoken).

Additional Information:

Contract: Permanent, Chemical Industry CCNL.

Grade: Local Grade "Quadro".

Salary: €50,000 - €70,000 fixed annual salary.
