A leading company in the energy sector is seeking a Hands-On Mechanical Technician for Service on Small Gas Turbines. The position involves conducting maintenance activities globally, requiring strong troubleshooting skills and a team-oriented approach. Candidates should be open to travel, have a sound knowledge of gas turbines, and demonstrate proficiency in both English and Italian.

Competenze

Location Italy Milano Milano Mi Remote vs. Office Office / Site only Company Siemens Energy Organization Gas Services Business Unit Service Europe & Africa Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As a Hands-On Mechanical Technician for Service on Small Gas turbines worldwide, you will be responsible for the completion and management of maintenance activities of our products through performing and supporting on site activities in partnership with the business, customer, and contractors in line with the site programme. How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Performs the mechanical activity and carries out engineering modifications (hardware) to ensure the customer plant performs to specification. That means : specialist troubleshooting activities worldwide; site surveys to provide detailed reports from the basis of design plans for modification and upgrades; Handling subcontractors; Daily Site Report Preparation and on time Submission of Field Reports and associated documents after completion or site demobilizations.
  • Performs the review of complex plans, drawings and schematics and provides continual guidance throughout the task duration. Collaborates with the project manager and project engineer (where applicable) to ensure commercial position is safeguarded during mechanical activity.
  • Represent the company during formal customer briefing / de-briefing meetings to update the customer on mechanical progress, again safeguarding the interests of the company.
  • Provide onsite training to less experienced field service engineers. Update knowledge on new products and vendor equipment and assist in developing commissioning procedures. Also guides the training of customer operators in the maintenance of complex equipment.
  • Take full responsibility for Environmental and H&S when on site and ensure control measures are in place in the field, ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by following all safe work practices, policies, and processes and report all near misses and incidents.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated ability (at least 3 years) in delivering service products to the customer in an operating environment within the Oil and Gas Market.
  • Broad Gas Turbine product knowledge (core, package and controls) preferably in a hands-on capacity
  • Willingness to regular travel&work worldwide around 80% of the time and to be away from home for periods of time at the minimum notice.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office IT systems.
  • Able to work on weekends and bank holidays if required including shift work, based on project requirements. Our team is required to participate in the 24 / 7 support when required
  • Proficient in English and Italian.
  • Great Teammate with excellent communication and team-working skills and with excellent customer focus and influential too, taking charge of teams in different countries – so you’ll be culturally aware as well.

  • Ability to perform well with limited supervision and under pressure / time constraints.
