A leading engineering services provider in Tuscany is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical and electro-mechanical components throughout the development process. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have significant experience in design and project management. Responsibilities include resolving design and quality issues, supporting manufacturing, and developing test plans to ensure effective product rollout. This role promotes continuous improvement and collaboration across teams.

Summary:

  • Strategize, plan, and execute change implementation driven by cost, quality, and manufacturability considerations.
  • Led a change management project with scope of $00K+ potential cost savings.
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to achieve cost savings, improve quality, and streamline sourcing strategies.
  • Supported RFQs by addressing supplier queries and acted as a liaison between engineering, procurement, and quality teams.
  • Proactively identified and resolved design and quality issues in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Job Description:

  • Manage mechanical and electro-mechanical components throughout all aspects of the development process.
  • Design new components and integrate them into existing systems using the company’s Change Process to modify documentation and drawings.
  • Manage design changes to existing systems, focusing on mistake correction, cost savings, and code compliance.
  • Resolve design, manufacturing, testing, and quality issues; validate and release pre-series components and products to production.
  • Ensure proposed design changes are understood and accepted by relevant departments for proper implementation.
  • Support manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical components.
  • Support manufacturing lines through Standard Deviation Process for alternative solutions.
  • Develop test plans, transfer test stands, and technologies to outsourcing suppliers.
  • Evaluate and support second sourcing of alternate components requested by Supply Chain.
  • Upgrade processes and equipment for EH&S, cycle time, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related engineering field.
  • Electro-mechanical knowledge.
  • Mechanical design experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Interim Action Containment.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills with ability to lead and direct meetings effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple supplier concerns simultaneously.
