The candidate will join the RAIN (Robotic Automation INspection) lab, which is part of the Advanced Robotics research line at IIT. The focus of RAIN is to develop robots for inspection tasks and automation. Leveraging a multidisciplinary background that includes physics, computer science, robotics, mechatronics, and electronics, and through strong collaboration with other research lines at IIT, the lab delivers robots specifically designed for various applications. The RAIN lab's approach involves developing prototypes from initial concepts to advanced demonstrators, encompassing mechanical design, electronics, sensor development and integration, control software, and data analysis and visualization. These robots enhance safety for human workers by operating in hazardous environments and are designed to access hard-to-reach places and navigate complex paths.

• Design, develop, and test mechanical components for innovative autonomous inspection robots.
• Produce detailed technical drawings and collaborate closely with the mechanical workshop for component development.
• Perform comprehensive kinematic and dynamic analysis of developed mechanisms.
• Size and select sensors and electromechanical components and systems in collaboration with mechatronic engineers.
• Manage purchase orders and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical design and development of mechanical components.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. PTC CREO).
• Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (e.g. ANSYS).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
