Mechanical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Working closely with R&D scientists, the successful candidate will focus on integrating main process equipment into the plant layout. This includes defining the mechanical features of the equipment, interacting with suppliers, evaluating technical offers, and managing order follow-up until dispatch. The role also involves supporting the Plant 3D Model for layouts and piping, and overseeing the mechanical development and scalability of the pilot plant by analyzing its performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze plant mechanical feasibility using conceptual 3D models to ensure performance, safety, and standards compliance.
  2. Select static, rotating, and auxiliary equipment, and develop operating and maintenance procedures.
  3. Define constructability schemes and sequences.
  4. Create project specifications, bid packages, and work execution plans.
  5. Align vendor offers, evaluate technical bids, and coordinate subcontractor works.
  6. Establish mechanical and piping design bases.
  7. Support development of company standards and calculation models.
  8. Integrate mechanical systems and manage the Pilot Plant 3D model.
  9. Perform piping stress analysis.
  10. Assist with permit applications by gathering data and submitting documentation.
  11. Follow up on orders and interact with vendors for technical support.
  12. Assist in commissioning and startup activities.
  13. Collaborate with external partners, including research institutions.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  2. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  3. Experience with material order follow-up and vendor relationships.
  4. Proficiency in CAD mechanical software (Solid Edge preferred).
  5. Experience with AutoCAD LT and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  8. Fluent in professional English.
  9. Enthusiasm for expanding technological expertise.
  10. Knowledge of vacuum systems and carbon capture technology is a plus.
