Manager / Discipline Leader of the Mechanical Equipment & Packages team in Milano office :
- Collaborate with discipline leaders in other locations to ensure a cohesive and standardized approach across the organization.
- Be a member of the unit management team and act as a deputy in related areas.
- Contribute to defining and implementing the department's strategy.
- Lead a diverse team in various tasks within a specific subject area.
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to staff, including training and resource optimization.
- Ensure effective communication with staff and supervisors.
- Cross-check and approve technical documentation within the discipline.
- Support project execution actively.
- Support tendering efforts within the specific subject area.
- Be responsible for the timely ordering and delivery of systems and components within budgetary constraints.
- Ensure timely availability of deliverables for all execution projects.
- Track budgeted hours and costs with team members and take necessary actions when required.
- Ensure the quality of engineering deliverables in the specific discipline.
- Plan resource allocation for employees in the group.
- Manage the selection and hiring process in coordination with the Global discipline leader.
- Develop individual employee development plans and career paths.
- Drive continuous improvement within the department.
- Develop guidelines and specifications for specific subject areas.
- Establish internal guidelines and directives for the group.
- Collaborate on standardization efforts within the product responsibility scope and implement them within their area of responsibility.
- Assume responsibility for the quality of work within the group.
- Adhere to and implement relevant HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements.
Qualifications
- An engineering degree in mechanical engineering or a technical diploma.
Minimum 4 years of extensive experience as a Mechanical Discipline Group Leader.
- Possess extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning.
- Proven track record of executing projects, with a strong focus on plant engineering.
- Skilled in motivating and leading employees within their responsibility area.
- Able to leverage experience to influence and gain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
- Capable of evaluating multiple operational solutions and making informed decisions.
- Proficient in employing sophisticated methodologies to solve complex problems and implement solutions.
- Ability to make independent and timely decisions within pre-determined limits.
- Experience in using project management tools.
- Systematic and entrepreneurial mindset.
