The String Testing Mechanical Design Engineer oversees mechanical and piping design activities for projects within the String Test cell, including project documentation, drawings, and specifications related to P&ID, mechanical layouts, piping design, and structure design.

This role also involves participating in #Decarbonization initiatives, promoting #Digitalization and #Improvement of test methodologies, processes, and procedures.

The responsibilities include:

• Executing string test designs for turbo-compressors, electric motor-compressors, and turbo-generators, including thermodynamic verification, piping design per ASME code, and supporting structure design.
• Formulating purchase specifications and data sheets for mechanical system components, ensuring technical alignment with suppliers.
• Managing external contractors and ensuring timely delivery of technical documentation.
• Capturing lessons learned during the design process.
• Providing technical assistance during plant erection.
• Participating in organizational and improvement initiatives, and presenting in technical reviews.
• Supporting de-carbonization efforts related to mechanical system integration with the test facility and grid.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering (Energetic, Mechanical, Structural preferred) with relevant experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Leadership skills in cross-functional programs.
• Problem-solving skills with analytical and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Knowledge of mechanical system integration in turbomachinery plants and commissioning.
• Fluent in English and Italian; ability to work in the EU.
