RINA is currently recruiting for a Food Certification Support Staff – DOP / IGP to join its offices in Rome or Naples, Italy, within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.

This is a fixed-term position for maternity leave replacement.

Mission

Contribute to the integrity and reliability of PDO / PGI food certification processes by supporting technical management and inspection activities, ensuring compliance with national and EU regulations. The role is vital in maintaining high standards of quality and traceability across certified agri-food products, fostering trust among producers, regulatory bodies, and consumers.

Key Accountabilities

The candidate will support the PDO / PGI Manager in:

• Managing and monitoring certification applications using digital systems
• Handling initial certification requests
• Preparing assignments for inspectors
• Reviewing and validating certification documentation
• Conducting inspections and audits at DOP / IGP certified companies

Education

High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or Food Technology.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in the agri-food sector (e.g., Agriculture, Food Technologies)
• Technical knowledge of key food certification schemes (PDO / PGI / Organic)
• Experience in certification process management and document control is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Teamwork with a proactive, flexible, and problem-solving attitude
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
