Job summary

newcleo's MCC Lab in Turin invites a Master’s student to an internship focused on mechanical characterization of bulk materials and coatings using nanoindentation, scratch testing and in-situ SEM testing. You will develop a robust characterization protocol, process data, and correlate mechanical results with microstructure and composition.

Qualifications

Master’s student or recent graduate in Materials Science/Engineering or related field.
Strong background in mechanical behavior of materials; coatings knowledge is a plus.
Hands-on experience with nanoindentation, scratch testing, SEM/EBSD or in-situ mechanical testing is a plus.
Data-analysis skills (Python, MATLAB) and scientific writing.

Responsibilities

Perform nanoindentation, scratch testing and in-situ mechanical tests inside SEM.
Develop and validate characterization protocols for bulk materials and coatings.
Analyze data and correlate with microstructure, chemistry and thickness.
Contribute to final reporting and protocol documentation.
