BUILD BEYOND POSSIBLE, WITH ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

Who we are looking for:

As a Material and Process R&D Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our innovative polymer technology and additive manufacturing processes in the Research and Development team. You'll work with cutting-edge machines, test innovative polymeric materials, and qualify them for diverse applications, i.e., from the aerospace sector to design and creative industry. You will be involved in managing and deploying both internal projects and research activities funded both by private stakeholders and international entities, such as EU-community, ESA, and MIM. Additionally, you'll oversee the diffusion of results and the implementation of R&D findings within Caracol’s department and throughout the clients.

Few examples of responsibilities:

  • Discover and source cutting-edge materials for innovative 3D printing applications across diverse markets.
  • Conduct 3D printing initiatives focused on testing groundbreaking materials and fine-tuning process parameters.
  • Drive hands-on laboratory tests, including mechanical measurements, thermal evaluations, and geometrical measurements. Also,
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers and key stakeholders to propel R&D research programs forward.
  • Participating in national and EU-funded projects: from crafting proposals to managing execution and delivery.
  • Effectively manage data and communicate R&D findings both internally and externally to maximize impact.
  • Collaborate across departments to champion continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.

Ideal Background:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Material Science or similar
  • Ph. D. and/or up to three years of working experience in manufacturing companies
  • Hands-on expertise with laboratory testing equipment and advanced measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of 3D Printing (preferably FDM)
  • Good English level (B2/C1), Italian is a nice to have
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with fundamental statistical concepts including statistical testing, ANOVA, linear regression, and their application in data analysis.
  • Nice to have: experience with software for data analysis (i.e., excel, power BI, Minitab, Python, etc.).
