About The Role

As a Material Testing Coordinator (MTC) you will support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager by coordinating daily operations of the Materials Testing Laboratory.

As an individual contributor you will coordinate the whole process from reception of testing requests to distribution of test results, ensuring the availability of testing personnel and equipment.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and be located at Monfalcone (Italy) with a 100% on-site presence request.

Main Responsibilities

  • Receive testing requests and perform relevant job management in WLAB, including appropriate routing of worked hours and costs.
  • Coordinate review of requirements and definition of testing programs with Clients.
  • Ensure that specimens machining and testing plans are endorsed by Clients prior to relevant operations to commence.
  • Dispatch testing engineers and manage planning/scheduling of laboratory activities.
  • Approve test reports in WLAB, publish them in EDMS and send them to Clients.
  • Perform 'make or buy' analysis with regards to simulated heat treatments, specimens machining and testing activities.
  • Support Procurement in issuance of purchase orders.
  • Manage blanket orders with regular Vendors, accepting relevant services.
  • Overview the stock of laboratory consumables, issuing requisitions for restock.
  • Ensure adequacy and fitness-for-purpose of test and ancillary equipment owned and operated by the Materials Testing Laboratory, including ordinary maintenance and calibration – in conjunction with the applicable departments (Maintenance and Quality).
  • Schedule, in cooperation with Procurement and Quality, any service or calibration performed by external vendors, from requisition to acceptance of the service.
  • Overview, in cooperation with the Discipline Technical Lead, the qualifications of testing engineers and their suitability to support the operations of the Materials Testing Laboratory.
  • Collect user-feedback for WLAB and initiate relevant actions with the Product Owner for bug resolutions and addition of new functionalities.
  • Maintain a schedule for interlaboratory/bilateral proficiency testing, repeatability testing, intermediate verifications and renewal of testing engineer qualifications programs.
  • Analyze the results of the programs and provide an annual report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Management Review.
  • Keep relevant contacts with external providers of proficiency testing.
  • Keep contact with the Accreditation Body (i.e. Accredia), as defined in the accreditation contract, acting on behalf of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in definition of annual budgets for the Materials Testing Laboratory, in terms of Internal Project Costs (IPC) and Capital Investments (CapEx).
  • Reports regularly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and the first line Director about financial performance of the Materials Testing Laboratory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering ( Materials/Welding/Mechanical/Management)
  • + 10 years of experience
  • Fluent English and Italian
