A mapping service provider is seeking a Mapping Operator in Magenta, Italy. The role involves operating mapping vehicles, ensuring adherence to traffic rules, and working as part of a team. Candidates should have at least four years of driving experience, a valid driver's license, and be fluent in English. This is a temporary contractor position with a compensation of €10.00 per hour plus overtime.

Only applicants that have been selected for an interview will be contacted. We have a minimal number of positions currently needed. There are no internship positions available. Relocation is not offered.

Mapping Operator Responsibilities

1. Operator must live in the mapping area.
2. Operate mapping vehicles with care and attention, abiding by all traffic and highway rules.
3. Work effectively as part of a larger mapping team.
4. Follow the rules and work missions as requested by the Project Manager.
5. Evening and weekend collection may be necessary at times.
6. Complete daily checks on the vehicle and equipment and notify the manager of any issues.
7. Operate carefully, especially with regard to the equipment on the vehicle, such as knowledge of the height of the vehicle with equipment, being mindful of low-hanging objects such as trees.
8. Protect the equipment and vehicle by always parking the vehicle securely.
9. Follow security protocols and instructions from managers.
10. Maintain confidentiality of the project and the data collected.
11. Maintain required logs as set forth by the Project Manager.
12. Operate and monitor the sensor equipment on a daily basis in the mapping vehicle.
13. Consideration to the equipment and its functionality is mandatory.
14. Troubleshoot equipment issues.
15. Be a citizen, hold a Legal Residence Card, or a Working Visa (no Student Visas accepted) and be authorized to work in the posted country.
16. A valid operator's license to operate in any valid state.
17. Ability to manage time effectively.
18. Ability to work well in a team.
19. Ability to listen to managers and complete tasks efficiently.
20. Basic technical familiarity with maps, phones, and tablet computers.
21. Be able to logically follow technical instructions.
22. Good understanding of the posted country's road network.
23. Be a good communicator and be able to complete reports for managers.
24. Strength to lift up to 50 lbs, plus bending and twisting.
25. Honest, open, and transparent communication.
26. Be a legal citizen, hold a Legal Residence Card, or a Working Visa with no restrictions (no Student Visas accepted).

Requirements

1. Have some level of expertise and aptitude in motor vehicle mechanics.
2. Have at least four (4) years of driving experience.
3. Experience driving for long periods.
4. Preferably be 25 years of age, but will consider appropriate experience.
5. Capability to understand physical security protocols.
6. Ability to follow instructions and escalate issues appropriately.
7. Experience with iOS devices and being technically savvy.
8. Ability to work long hours in stressful environments.
9. Hold a valid driver's license and be permitted to drive in the posted country.
10. Maintain a clear driving record.
11. Pass a 5 or 7 Panel Drug Screen and consent to random drug testing.
12. Pass a background check.
13. Must be fluent in English.

Timeline

Training start: March 17th, 2025. Project start: March 24th, 2025. Duration: approximately end of May to early June 2025, with possible fluctuations.

Pay & Compensation

€10.00 per hour + 1.5x for overtime (paid monthly). Company vehicle provided. Gas card for each vehicle. Reimbursable expenses with receipts.
