A leading hotel in Venice seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure guest satisfaction through timely repairs and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities include responding to repair requests, performing maintenance on equipment, and maintaining safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience in general maintenance, with a commitment to quality service.
Respond to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues. Communicate with guests and customers to resolve problems. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves and utility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication protocols. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and manage inventory related to engineering tasks. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance. Repair landscaping and sprinklers. Demonstrate basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.
Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express appreciation. Adhere to quality standards and develop positive working relationships. Communicate clearly and professionally. Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Use computers for work-related information and perform other duties as assigned.
