Job Description

AbbVie is currently looking for 3 API Manufacturing Engineers for a 12-month fixed-term contract with the following responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring and troubleshooting of manufacturing process and equipment issues, and process optimization.
  2. Driving initiatives to enhance operational processes and equipment performance to achieve manufacturing excellence.
  3. Developing supporting documentation, SOPs, PFMEA, Control Plans, and work instructions compliant with GMP.
  4. Proactively monitoring existing processes and equipment to identify opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions.
  5. Reviewing and contributing to the development of batch-related recipes (such as those in POMS), and other manufacturing documentation for accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Offering expert input or reviewing the design of batch and cleaning manufacturing recipes within the Distributed Control System (DCS).
  7. Supporting New Process and Equipment Introductions.
  8. Documenting, streamlining, and updating procedures and processes.
  9. Reviewing and resolving DCS and SAP anomalies, and collaborating on drafting and reviewing procedures.
  10. Supporting compliance initiatives and regulatory or other inspections/audits.
  11. Developing inter-departmental communication and planning.
  12. Adhering to and supporting all EHS & E standards, procedures, and policies.
  13. Maintaining department processes and tools, e.g., 5S.
Qualifications
  1. Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  3. Previous experience with DCS, MES, or in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  4. GMP knowledge related to the pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
