What You'll Do

As an Insurance Risk Manager, BCG Vantage in a Client Focused role within BCG's Insurance Finance & Risk Practice Area, you will work in a growing global team, delivering value to clients via individual expertise and/or institutionalized knowledge assets (products, tools, data, workshops, frameworks, surveys, domain-specific data and related expertise, etc.). You will contribute to proposals and cases through thought partnership in your area of expertise, deliver original analyses and insights helping drive strong impact with clients. While contributing to client cases, workshops and proposals, occasional travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments is expected to understand client requirements, and design / develop solutions.

1. Deliver Expertise and Insight: Provide thought leadership and advanced analytical expertise in Insurance Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Risk Modeling, Pricing & Underwriting, Claims Management, Investment Strategies, Asset Management, and Regulatory Compliance. Develop and implement AI-driven solutions tailored to client needs, utilizing state-of-the-art models and computational tools.
2. Build Knowledge Assets: Lead the development of intellectual property, tools, and frameworks, such as AI/ML models, actuarial algorithms, quantitative risk models, and advanced financial analytics solutions. Collaborate on domain-specific data repositories, benchmarking tools, and decision-making frameworks to enhance client impact.
3. Contribute to Client Cases and Proposals: Partner with case teams to design, analyze, and deploy customized solutions aligned with client strategies. Engage in client workshops, bringing deep expertise to support commercialization efforts.
4. Mentor and Guide Team Members: Coach junior analysts and colleagues, fostering professional growth and technical skill development. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on insurance finance and risk, providing guidance on methodologies and best practices.

You will support commercialization efforts for the topic/sector working, in conjunction with business leaders, providing insights & advice for proposals and client workshops. Additionally, as a Manager - BCG Vantage, you will lead development of intellectual property & assets for the business and mentor and guide junior colleagues based on your topic/sector expertise.

You're good at:

1. Strategic Problem Solving: Applying analytical approaches to solve complex client challenges, particularly in Insurance Finance, Actuarial Science, and Risk Management. Design models, analytics, and financial optimization approaches to address clients and business needs.
2. Innovative Thinking and Adaptability: Demonstrating creativity in developing solutions that integrate cutting-edge technologies (e.g., machine learning, automation) with traditional methods. Adapting to fast-paced and evolving environments, confidently navigating ambiguity to provide clear recommendations.
3. Data-Driven Insights and Analysis: Using advanced data modeling, statistical techniques, and scenario analysis to derive actionable insights. Leveraging large datasets and proprietary tools to identify trends, measure risks, and create strategies tailored to client needs.
4. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Collaborating with senior executives, translating complex technical concepts into clear, impactful recommendations for diverse audiences. Delivering polished presentations and workshops that drive stakeholder buy-in and strategic decision-making.
5. Project and Workflow Management: Leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality. Organizing and delivering on complex project timelines, ensuring all deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
6. Mentorship and Team Development: Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues, sharing expertise, and fostering growth through feedback and hands-on training. Creating a collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and supports professional development.
7. Collaborating Across Diverse Teams: Working effectively with global, multi-disciplinary teams to co-create insights and drive client impact. Leveraging cultural intelligence and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike.

What You'll Bring

1. Industry/Consulting Experience: 3+ years consulting experience in relevant Insurance Finance & Risk topics or 6-10+ years of advanced industry experience. Hands-on experience with IFRS 17 compliance, Solvency II, or similar regulatory standards.
2. In lieu of consulting experience, 4+ years minimum industry experience required; 6-10+ years of industry experience strongly preferred.
3. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Finance, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
4. Strong problem-solving capabilities.
5. Advanced capabilities in quantitative analysis, data visualization, and financial forecasting.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Fluency in English and Italian.

As a Client Focus Vantage, you will work face to face with clients and with BCG Project Leaders, Associates and Consultants. In the period between cases, you will collaborate with global topic leads and colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our internal and external clients.
