DescriptionOur CompanyTo support the management of EBD (Environmental Business Division) EMEA operations (planning, budget, reporting,...) and provide strategic analysis on new business innovation initiatives.
- Support the operation of the EMEA EBD unit (under leadership of head of EMEA EBD). The unit consists of ca. 9 headcounts and a budget of ca. 3 M£.
- Provide strategic analysis of markets, innovation trends, and startups companies.
- What you’ll be doing
The role will also be responsible for :
- Unit operations
- Drive the planning, budgeting, pacing, and reporting process of the unit, in close collaboration with the head of the unit as well as with corporate global management. Ensure the timely delivery of deliverables to corporate global management, in cooperation with New Business Innovation leaders. Resolve programmatic issues and escalate when necessary.
- Strategic analysis
- Assess business ecosystems and competitive dynamics in energy, mobility, and industrial sectors. Explore and analyze markets and trends in these sectors and identify venture opportunities. Scout databases, reports, attend conferences/meetings to identify interesting startups and corporate partners, and track them systematically. Analyze startups and corporate partners' strengths, weaknesses, assets, financial capacities, and business models. Prepare regular update reports and other communication materials for internal stakeholders. Support ad-hoc presentations.
- Collaboration
- Serve as the operational platform for issues within the units and be a key contact for Hitachi’s Corporate Venture Office (CVO).
- What you bring to the team

- Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters in Finance, Business Administration, Sustainability Strategy, Technology & Information Management, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of professional experience in strategy and/or management support. Startup experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and reporting skills to support unit operations.
- Familiarity with strategic analysis and interest in startup and corporate venture environments.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, inquisitive.
- Highly organized with good time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to see the big picture and break it down into operational steps.
- Works well under pressure.
- Confident and credible communicator, capable of fostering collaboration internally and externally.
- Skilled in synthesizing large amounts of information into clear messages and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in a second European language is a plus.
This role reports to the Head of EMEA - Environmental Business Division and is available in the UK, Switzerland, and Italy.
