Maintenance Technical Support Engineer

Location: Bologna, BO, IT

Purpose of the Job

The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support to maintenance activities (on site or remotely) on Railway Signalling Systems operated by Alstom's domestic and international customers.

The role includes managing warranty obligations within the scope of Alstom projects.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement maintenance and technical assistance plans;
• Coordinate and support maintenance technicians in the field;
• Provide performance and log analysis;
• Implement structured “return of experience” processes through reporting, statistics, etc.;
• Execute and supervise hardware and software retrofit and upgrade plans;
• Support the Service Signalling Platform organization in defining maintenance strategies for tenders and offers;
• Collaborate with product engineering to define maintainability requirements during the product’s design phase.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Telecommunications Engineering;
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schemes;
• Knowledge of electronic design principles and methodologies;
• Ability to work in a team and problem-solving attitude;
• New graduates or individuals with one or two years of experience in electronic or electromechanical companies;
• Experience with onsite or remote technical assistance for electronic/electromechanical applications.

Job Location: Bologna

The position requires availability to perform activities outside of Bologna (approximately 25%) and to support the customer maintenance team remotely 24/7.
