Eli Lilly Italia is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Engineering team at the Sesto Fiorentino site. You will be hands-on from day one on the shop floor, working with production teams in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.

You will lead maintenance activities, analyze KPIs, and develop SOPs while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure reliable system performance.

Competenze

• Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical) required.
• 1 year of experience in engineering, maintenance, or technical support.
• English fluency (B2+) required.
• Attention to HSE aspects.
• Attention to Quality and Data Integrity aspects.

Mansioni

• Act as SME for all systems under Formulation & Component Preparation.
• Work with Operational Support to close Work Orders on time and maintain maintenance programs.
• Analyze KPIs across PM, WO execution, HSE, Quality, and Data Integrity; evaluate projects.
• Identify anomalies on systems and implement solutions to prevent recurrences.
• Propose upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency of systems.
• Ensure top efficiency, availability, and performance of systems.
• Develop, integrate, and review SOPs and Technical Assessments for systems.
• Lead and manage projects and changes for the systems.
• Plan shut-down activities with Maintenance Manager during outages.
• Interact with internal stakeholders to understand needs and plan actions.
• Interface with external contractors when required.
• Promote an interdependent HSE culture with focus on Quality and Data Integrity.

Eli Lilly Italia is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Sesto Fiorentino (FI) site. The role is dedicated to the Formulation & Component Preparation area of our pre‑filled syringes production. Working side by side with the production teams, you will be hands‑on from day one: on the shop floor, on the equipment, on the problems that come up during the shift. It is the fastest way to build real technical expertise on systems operating in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, and to own it.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all the systems under your responsibility within Formulation & Component Preparation
• Work with the Operational Support Team to ensure Work Orders are correctly closed within due dates and maintenance programs are properly implemented
• Analyze KPIs across Preventive Maintenance, WO execution, HSE, Quality, and Data Integrity, and evaluate projects to improve them
• Identify anomalies and issues occurring on the systems, and work with the team to solve them and avoid recurrences
• Propose upgrade and revamping initiatives to make the systems more reliable and more efficient
• Ensure top efficiency, availability, and performance of the systems
• Develop, integrate, and review SOPs and Technical Assessments for the systems under your responsibility
• Lead and manage projects and changes regarding the systems under your responsibility
• Plan Shut Down activities and work with the Maintenance Manager during the Shut Down period to complete all assigned tasks
• Interact with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and propose an adequate plan of action
• Interface with external contractors in case of needs or to involve them in projects when required
• Actively promote and support an interdependent HSE culture, with attention to Quality and Data Integrity in every activity

Basic Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical)
• 1 year of experience in engineering, maintenance, or technical support, preferably in a complex industrial setting (internship or thesis experience in a pharmaceutical is a plus)
• English fluency (B2+)
• Attention to HSE aspects
• Attention to Quality and Data Integrity aspects

Additional Skills/Preferences

• Knowledge of maintenance basics and its metrics
• Knowledge of main utilities equipment
• Knowledge of PED directive and other regulations related to machinery (Machinery Directive and similar)
• Attitude to teamwork and problem solving

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is €37,500 - €96,800
