Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Machine Operator at our Verona, VA facility. The role involves reading shop drawings and procedures, programming and operating CNC machinery, and setting up tooling to produce parts per blueprints. You will maintain quality standards, troubleshoot issues, and record production data while adhering to safety guidelines.

Starting pay ranges from $26.50 to $29.50 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential. Training available; 3rd shift schedule is Mon-Thu evenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and routing sheets to plan machining.
• Operate CNC machines and programs by entering instructions and offsets.
• Set up equipment by installing and adjusting tools and attachments.
• Maintain equipment and observe specs, troubleshoot malfunctions, and adjust controls.
• Keep accurate records of production data and maintenance tasks.

The Machine Operator will be responsible for working from shop drawing, procedures and/or other written, verbal, or electronic instruction, perform a wide variety of operations. Produces parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Our facility is located at 45 Sutton Road | Verona, VA | 24482.

Starting Pay : $26.50 - $29.50 per hour, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications.

Shift Differential: $1.50/hr.

3rd Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:30pm-6:00am

• Training Schedule : 1st shift, Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm (approx. 2-4 weeks)

Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Machine Operator Responsibilities

• Plans machining by reading, interpreting, understanding, and working from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
• Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials.
• Programs equipment by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Sets up equipment by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, heads, etc.
• Maintains specifications by observing, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjust and/or programming controls.
• Maintains equipment by completing operator maintenance requirements, following manufacturers and/or company instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and/or calling for repairs.
• Maintain required records in either written or electronic form.

Machine Operator Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• 3 to 5 years’ previous experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness
• Manual Dexterity
• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching
• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
