We are looking for a Machine Learning Expert to be hired with a permanent contract within the Siemens Mobility Innovation Centre for Optimization & AI within the Software Business Unit.

The Innovation Centre for Optimization & AI at Siemens Mobility advances mobility technology through research and development in the fields of Optimization & AI, with a particular focus on the Train Planning Systems (TPS) business segment.

Your Challenge

As a Machine Learning Expert, your mission will be to develop and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms to enhance the efficiency of transportation systems, with a primary involvement in Rail.

Your main activities will be:

• Designing and developing machine learning models for different predictive, planning and decision-making problems, including predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, scheduling, routing and resource assignment
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions and components into existing Siemens software.
• Analyzing large datasets to extract actionable insights and improve decision-making processes.
• Conducting research and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would have:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in machine learning, with a strong background in developing and deploying ML models.
• Expertise in deep learning techniques, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and transformers.
• Expertise in deep reinforcement learning, including policy gradient methods, Q-learning, and multi-agent systems.
• Proven experience in applying machine learning techniques in the mobility sector, particularly in rail systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Passion to never-stop growing.
