Job summary

KPIT in Turin, Italy, is seeking an experienced Linux software integration engineer to join the Software Integration & Testing team. You will integrate, validate, and release embedded software platforms based on Linux, QNX, and Android Automotive, collaborating with development, vehicle integration, and validation teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 8+ years of software integration on Linux-based embedded platforms (Yocto/QNX).
  • 4+ years of Android Automotive (AOSP) integration.
  • 4+ years of embedded software development in C/C++.
  • 2+ years of Adaptive AUTOSAR.
  • Experience with automotive embedded software systems.
  • Knowledge of Yocto, QNX, Python, CMake, bash, systemd, and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and validate embedded software components on Linux, QNX, and Android Automotive platforms.
  • Build and maintain software baselines and integration environments for development teams.
  • Define and execute software integration and release strategies.
  • Support feature and service integration with base software, middleware, hypervisors, BSPs, and open-source Linux components.
  • Perform integration testing, release validation, and defect analysis.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and CI/CD workflows.
  • Collaborate with software developers, validation teams, and vehicle integration stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across hardware and software layers.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements of integration, testing, and software delivery processes.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Linux software integration engineer to join our Software Integration & Testing team in Turin, Italy, as part of our Software Experience (SWX) organisation.

In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for integrating, validating, and releasing embedded software platforms based on Linux, QNX, and Android Automotive. You will work closely with software development, vehicle integration, and validation teams to deliver robust automotive software solutions for next-generation vehicle platforms.This position is ideal for engineers who are passionate about embedded systems, automotive software, platform integration, and emerging mobility technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate and validate embedded software components on Linux, QNX, and Android Automotive platforms.
  • Build and maintain software baselines and integration environments for development teams.
  • Define and execute software integration and release strategies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with software integration on Linux-based embedded platforms, including Yocto and/or QNX environments.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Android Automotive (AOSP) integration.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in embedded software development using C and/or C++.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Adaptive AUTOSAR.
  • Experience working on automotive embedded software systems.
  • Good knowledge of:
  • Yocto
  • QNX
  • Python
  • CMake
  • Bash scripting

  • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity
  • Unit testing frameworks such as Google Test
  • Static analysis tools such as SonarQube, Parasoft, or Polyspace

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration systems and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet networking technologies, including:
  • IEEE 802.3
  • IEEE 802.1AS
  • TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, cryptographic protocols, key management, chain of trust, and anti-spoofing techniques.
  • Familiarity with ASPICE and V-Model development processes.
  • Experience with power management, diagnostics, fault management, and failure mode analysis.
  • Experience with embedded platform services such as diagnostics, logging, tracing, IPC mechanisms, and performance optimization.
