Zirak in Vicenza, Italy is seeking an embedded software engineer to design and maintain software for in-vehicle connectivity modules, including TCU and infotainment systems. You will implement and test automotive and wireless communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi and cellular) and support connected-vehicle functionalities such as OTA updates, telematics and V2X.

The role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and adherence to ASPICE, ISO 26262 and AUTOSAR

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• 1–2 years of professional embedded software development experience.
• Strong C and C++ programming skills.
• Experience with Python scripting.
• Familiarity with Git version-control systems.
• Experience with issue-tracking tools like JIRA.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software components for in-vehicle connectivity modules, including TCU and infotainment systems.
• Implement, integrate and test automotive and wireless communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular technologies.
• Support the development of connected-vehicle functionalities such as OTA updates, telematics and V2X communication.
• Contribute to software integration, debugging, testing and issue resolution on embedded automotive platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional hardware, systems engineering, cybersecurity and cloud teams.
• Follow automotive software development processes and standards, including ASPICE, ISO 26262 and AUTOSAR.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• One to two years of professional experience in embedded software development, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Good programming skills in C and C++.
• Experience with scripting languages, particularly Python.
• Knowledge of embedded software development, integration, testing and debugging practices.
• Experience with version-control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience with issue-tracking and project-management tools, such as JIRA.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Embedded Linux or QNX.
• Exposure to automotive telematics, V2X communication or OTA update systems.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols, including CAN, LIN and UDS.
• Experience with automotive network analysis and testing tools, such as Vector CANoe or CANalyzer.
• Knowledge of wireless communication technologies, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE/5G.
• Understanding of AUTOSAR concepts and automotive software architectures.
• Basic knowledge of automotive functional safety and development processes, including ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
• Awareness of cybersecurity principles in the automotive domain.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure and with vehicle data pipelines.
• Knowledge of the Italian language.
