Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Service Support Engineer for lifts, escalators and travelators to provide remote and on-site technical support across our nationwide estate. You’ll diagnose issues, drive timely resolutions, and collaborate with field teams, planners and contractors to improve asset reliability and safety.

The role requires travel across the UK, a full UK driving licence and the ability to stay away from home when needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the maintenance, servicing and fault diagnosis of lifts, escalators and travelators.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems associated with vertical transportation.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads across multiple locations.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.
• Customer service experience within a fast-paced 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Providing remote technical support to diagnose maintenance issues and drive permanent, timely resolutions.
• Using data, systems, and insights to identify trends and opportunities to improve maintenance performance.
• Collaborating with colleagues to optimise resource planning and dispatch activities, building strong stakeholder relationships.
• Supporting the development of incident management and investigation processes and Ways of Working.
• Undertaking site visits as required to provide technical support and assurance.
• Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, compliantly, and within agreed service levels.
• Putting customer, colleague, and community welfare at the heart of every decision and managing workload effectively to deliver the best outcomes.
