Job Summary

Provides account management support for luxury travel agencies focused on luxury leisure individual and group business, located in top source markets that buy locally within the market. Develops strategic relationships with key segment buyers to penetrate and grow local market share and drive revenue to the hotel.

Core Work Activities
Managing Luxury Leisure Sales Activities
  • Focuses on luxury leisure opportunities from luxury travel agencies in US & CALA.
  • Partners with Global Account Executives managing Luxury travel agencies (e.g., AMEX FHR, Internova).
  • Works with Marketing teams on market-level and property-specific strategies and initiatives.
  • Pulls-through existing national and regional promotions with travel agency customers.
  • Partners with regional teams to implement market luxury leisure strategies at key buying locations.
  • Gains expertise in resort amenities, new package offerings, and market promotions; promotes offerings with local buyers.
  • Develops understanding of Marriott’s value proposition to the travel agency market and related programs.
  • Partners with Travel Industry Wholesale to promote business within launch markets and support property-level selling solutions.
  • Understands the competitive market set and economic environment to position hotels appropriately during sales processes.
  • Attends trade shows, travel agency shows, and retail agency events.
  • Assists with business for other source markets as a value-added service.
  • Focuses on luxury leisure transient and group opportunities from retail travel agencies.
Managing Sales Activities
  • Manages all retail and travel management accounts, including those in source markets that generate sales locally.
  • Works with the Director of Sales to implement sales strategies effectively.
  • Manages and directs the on-property multi-segment sales efforts to meet revenue goals.
  • Achieves pre-defined group, retail, and premium retail sales goals through strategic selling and negotiations.
  • Retains, expands, and grows account revenue via account growth, margin management, and marketing initiatives.
  • Partners with key Sales teams to ensure strategy alignment and execution.
  • Develops and manages operating budgets and controls expenses.
Building Successful Relationships
  • Serves as the account’s local service guarantee, ensuring outstanding service delivery.
  • Creates strong partnerships between field and corporate teams.
  • Acts as the customer advocate, understanding account needs and opportunities.
  • Identifies emerging business opportunities and risks, providing feedback to stakeholders.
  • Manages relationships with key buyers to maximize business and market share.
  • Develops relationships with property staff, coaching on booking needs and opportunities.
Candidate Profile
  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in sales, marketing, guest services, or related fields, OR
  • 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
  • Lodging sales experience.
  • Luxury leisure sales experience.
  • Account management experience.
  • Computer Skills.
  • Languages: English + Italian; additional language (Spanish) preferred.
