Job summary

Exein S.p.a. in Rome (Hybrid) seeks a Legal Manager to own the legal function and partner with Product, Engineering and Security to navigate AI, cybersecurity and data protection challenges. You will drive compliance, contract governance, and regulatory affairs in a fast-scaling tech environment.

The role reports to the CFO and collaborates with diverse teams to embed Privacy, Security and Compliance by Design across products and services.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Law.
• Bar admission.
• 4+ years in top law firm or in-house counsel.
• Ability to work autonomously and make business-oriented decisions.
• Strong experience negotiating technology, commercial, cybersecurity and SaaS contracts.
• Strong understanding of IT law, technology transactions and data protection.
• Good working knowledge of EU regulatory landscape relevant to AI, cybersecurity and digital products (GDPR, CRA, AI Act, NIS2).
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the Legal function, defining priorities, processes, templates, and standards.
• Advise on strategic, commercial, product, and operational decisions as internal legal advisor.
• Be the main legal contact for customers, partners, suppliers, investors and external counsel.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Security to address legal implications of AI-enabled products and services.
• Support the business in scaling internationally while maintaining compliance frameworks.
