About the role

This role will work with the Country Counsel in Italy in cooperation with the rest of the legal team. It will be a critical contributor to managing insurance products and distribution schemes to be launched in Italy, aligning with AIG Europe's strategy to pursue new market opportunities where AIG aims to lead ahead of the competition. Additionally, the role will handle company secretariat duties and oversee controls over distribution networks, including interactions with Italian and Luxembourg regulators.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing high-quality, pragmatic legal support and advice to business stakeholders in Italy promptly and cost-effectively.
2. Supporting and guiding the Italian operations and the wider legal team regarding legal risks.
3. Proactively advising on regulatory and legislative developments and ensuring these are incorporated into transaction documentation and business processes.
4. Assisting with drafting or reviewing insurance contracts, distribution agreements, pre-contractual documentation, and marketing materials.
5. Supporting corporate secretariat activities for various AIG entities in Italy.
6. Coordinating with external legal counsel on key projects under supervision and in line with the local head of legal.
7. Maintaining positive and professional relationships within the team and across the wider GLCR team.
8. Advising on and negotiating non-claims disputes (primarily non-contentious).
9. Supporting regulatory relations and interactions with trade associations.
10. Assisting with other legal matters, including labor law, data protection, and competition law issues, as requested by the legal department or GLCRs COE.
