The Opportunity

We are looking for a lawyer with experience in construction law, professional services, professional indemnity insurance and/or related fields. Must be a qualified lawyer, ideally with around 2-4 years PQE, gained in private practice or as part of an in-house team. You will provide legal support and advice on a broad range of issues relevant to a professional services business, including reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, ongoing project advice, dispute resolution and broader strategic matters.

As a Legal Counsel at Arup, you will:

1. Draft and review standard/non-standard forms of contracts and other commercial contracts with limited supervision.
2. Prepare for and conduct more complex negotiations either individually or with senior support.
3. Work directly with the business to provide legal advice and support in defined areas.
4. Advise on more complex contractual arrangements such as Joint Ventures, working with contractors or disputes.
5. Provide input into the ongoing skills development of others within the legal team and identify areas of improvement for the benefit of the whole team.
