A leading legal services provider in Milan is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel. This role involves managing legal documents, providing regulatory advice, and supporting the Group General Counsel in strategic decisions. The ideal candidate has a Master's degree in Law and at least 6 years of experience in an international setting. Additional language skills and knowledge of AI tools are advantageous. We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel who will work within the Group General Counsel Office & Group Regulatory Special Projects Unit.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
* Supporting in the management of the Group General Counsel's ordinary activities, as identified from time to time by the Group General Counsel
* Drafting of various legal documents on specific projects or topics
* Collection of information from the local Legal Teams on specific regulatory or organizational topics
* Cascading communication and guidelines to local Legal Teams
* Sharing best practices with local Legal Teams on legal or regulatory topics
* Supporting the Head of the Unit in monitoring the regulatory landscape in the Group BUs to prepare reporting, early warnings and advice
* Analyzing and interpreting complex legal information, conduct thorough legal and regulatory research on various topics, particularly in the insurance and financial sectors
* Supporting in providing strategic legal and regulatory advice on business decisions and projects, drafting memos to summarize the results of the legal researches
* Participating to committees and meetings on specific Group projects, to provide legal and regulatory advice, helping in preparing the legal position and recurrent reports on the status of the projects
* Supporting in aligning with the Business Units Legal departments on the approach on regulatory topics
* Supporting in providing legal advice related to new insurance products or insurance distribution initiatives
* Supporting in liaising with Local Legal departments to steer the approach on selected projects planning and cross-functional activities
Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
* Master's degree in Law, Economics or Political Sciences with focus on legal matters
* At least 6 years of experience in an international financial institution, law firm or public organization
* Fluent in English (any additional language would be considered a plus)
* Good knowledge of the Office package
* Knowledge of how to apply AI tools to the legal framework would be considered a plus
* Curious, agile, willing to study new regulatory topics and adapt quickly to new work environments
