Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking an experienced R&D Product Development Engineer (Tooling) in Collegno, Italy, to drive development of industrial termination machines for high-volume harness production.

You will lead projects from concept through commissioning, collaborate with global suppliers, and ensure designs meet performance, cost and lead-time targets while complying with CE standards. Strong CAD and risk assessment skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in product development and engineering (>3 years).
• Min 2 years in industrial automation.
• Strong mechanical and mechatronic design knowledge.
• Experience with risk assessments and leading Design and Process FMEA.
• Proficiency with major CAD platforms (Creo/SolidWorks/Inventor).
• Advanced proficiency with Windows and Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead machine development projects through full lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
• Act as technical lead, coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Drive innovation by identifying new technologies and industry trends.
• Develop machines meeting performance, quality, cost, reliability and lead time requirements.
• Collaborate with global suppliers and development partners; review supplier designs.
• Ensure compliance with CE and other standards.
• Lead root-cause analysis and FMEA to ensure robust designs.
• Provide on-site support for testing, installation, startup and commissioning.
• Prepare and maintain technical specifications, drawings and documentation.
• Review designs for feasibility, manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
