Job summary

Hometown Preschool in Verona, WI is seeking a toddler teacher to implement active curriculum and supervise safe, engaging play for young children.

You will care for basic needs, lead daily sensory and motor activities, and work closely with teammates to maintain a nurturing environment. Must be 18+ and pass employment checks; prior early childhood experience is valuable.

Qualifications

• Basic certification in child care or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Infant/toddler care certificate or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• CPR/First Aid and related safety trainings (upon employment).

Responsibilities

• Organize activities or implement a curriculum for toddlers to explore their interests.
• Supervise and monitor the safety of children.
• Attend to basic needs such as feeding, diapering and maintaining cleanliness.
• Lead daily sensory, music and movement activities and motor projects.
• Collaborate with team to foster a nurturing, positive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Be Doing

• Organize activities or implement a curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests
• Supervise and monitor the safety of children
• Take care of basic needs of children such as feeding, changing diapers, and keeping good cleanliness of children
• Perform sensory, music and movement, large motor activities and small motor projects are required to be done daily
• Work closely with each team member to create a nurturing and positive work environment for everyone
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience And Skills

• Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Skills & Strategies for the Child Care Professional (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Infant / Toddler Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire)

Early Child Care Experience Preferred

• CPR / First Aid, Shaken Baby, SIDS training (upon employment)

Must be able to work as a supportive member of our team

Requirements

• Must be able to pass an FBI fingerprint background check, complete CPR with 3 months of hire, obtain necessary classes for early childhood in order to work in a classroom.
