Job summary

cosine invites a Thermo-Mechanical Engineer to shape next-generation space-borne optical instruments from our Italian team. You will design, analyze, and qualify hardware destined for satellites and planetary missions, where reliability in extreme conditions is critical.

Join a small, international team with a start-up mindset, working end-to-end from concept through testing. You will collaborate with optics, mechanical, and systems engineers, contributing to mission success and the advancement

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Experience in thermo-mechanical design and analysis in space, aerospace, or high-tech engineering.
• Strong understanding of thermal and structural behavior under extreme conditions.
• Hands-on hardware development, integration, and testing experience.
• Ability to work effectively in small, international teams with a proactive attitude.
• Strong English communication, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the thermo-mechanical design of high-precision optical instruments for space applications.
• Perform thermal and structural analyses to ensure performance under launch and orbital conditions.
• Support the full development cycle from concept design through to assembly, integration, and qualification testing.
• Collaborate closely with optical, mechanical, and system engineers in an international multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to solving complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
