Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture of embedded software components within AUTOSAR for critical vehicle functions.
- Define software structure, interfaces, and integration strategies, collaborating with functional designers, hardware engineers, and platform architects.
- Drive strategic decisions on sourcing software and hardware components (e.g., MCU, memory), balancing innovation and efficiency.
- Oversee Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing to ensure robust validation of software components.
- Maintain and optimize software architecture throughout vehicle program lifecycles, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and rigorous performance requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and toolchain enhancements for global software development.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance to software development teams.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development, with at least 3 years in a lead or architectural role.
- Deep expertise in C programming, RTOS, and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR standards (Classic and / or Adaptive).
- Proficiency in C++ for modern embedded systems (preferred).
- Strong skills in debugging, defect analysis, and software testing (MIL, SIL).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) and modeling tools (e.g., Matlab / Simulink, Embedded Coder, TargetLink).
- Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and ASPICE processes (preferred).
- Proven leadership in global, cross-functional engineering environments with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Autonomy, rigor, curiosity, and fluency in English (Italian a plus).
