Lead Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer for our growing Global IT Infrastructure Team which will be based in Mathi.

The ideal candidate must have expertise in server administration, virtualization, automation (PowerShell, Terraform), and storage management, along with experience working with data center components. While Azure cloud exposure would be a plus, a strong experience in migration process (on-prem to cloud or cloud to cloud) is required for potential lift-and-shift projects.

Accountabilities:

1. Ensure the health and maintenance of the assigned IT platforms
2. Responsible for platform stability and performance
3. Complete Service requests on the assigned platforms
4. Be the IT Platform SME for global projects and platform roadmap
5. Support actively migration projects on-prem to cloud in collaboration with the wider teams
6. Identify, respond to, and triage any Platform incidents with the highest urgency
7. Implement process improvements, improve/update work instructions
8. Manage deployment of technical solutions based on user requirements and business value

1. Comprehensive IT Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure to provide consistent and effective support.
2. Innovative Problem-Solving: Identify and deliver technology solutions to address business challenges through proofs of concept, pilot programs, and successful project execution.
3. Knowledge Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge base articles and technical notes to ensure knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
4. IT Leadership: Offer guidance and mentorship to other Engineers while collaborating with the Global team to ensure exceptional performance and continuous professional growth.

Requirements:

1. Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure systems, including servers, storage, virtualization and automations
2. Proven hands-on experience with on-prem to cloud migrations
3. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft and VMware
4. Plus skills: Azure, Linux, Hyper-V, Security, HP Servers
5. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
6. Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create knowledge base articles and tech notes.
7. Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
8. Fluent in English spoken and written
9. Self-motivated and adaptable, capable of thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
