Partner with the best

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Seal Gas System, you'll be responsible for the detailed design and requisition activities needed for Baker Hughes Package and Systems Insourcing products such as Centrifugal Compressor Seal Gas Panels. Your role involves ensuring product standardization, leveraging configuration tools, reducing unnecessary customization, and aligning with Global Supply Chain goals, material productivity strategies, product quality, and installation support.

You will coordinate and integrate all technical and strategic activities to ensure the competitiveness and quality of Insourcing Products.

Responsibilities include:
  • Design detailed mechanical components for Seal Gas Panels.
  • Design piping for process and impulse lines within the scope of Seal Gas Panels.
  • Perform stress analysis on structures and piping to validate designs.
  • Collaborate with Procurement for RFQ content, offer evaluation, and supplier selection.
  • Work with Instrument and System Engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical designs.
  • Select auxiliary equipment like filters and valves for integration in seal gas panels.
  • Utilize configuration tools such as Cadenas and Rulestream to maximize standard parts use.
  • Support development and maintenance of product configurators.
  • Assist Project Engineering and Manufacturing during packaging, testing, and inspection.
  • Review detailed product designs with cross-functional teams.
  • Implement lessons learned and technical notes to enhance quality.
  • Manage outsourced engineering resources.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to improve product design and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Baker Hughes quality targets (NCR, NCM, CoQ).
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Energy Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX or similar) and 2D (AutoCAD).
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Strong decision-making and collaboration skills.
  • Effective communication across organizational levels.
  • Passion for technical details and innovation.
  • Fluency in Italian and English, written and spoken.
  • EU Work Permit.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Knowledge of auxiliary systems for Turbomachinery.
  • Experience with product configurators or digital catalogues.
  • Systems-thinking mindset.
