Functional area: Engineering

The team “Civil & Electrical Engineering” within the “Wind Turbine, Quality, Civil & Electrical Engineering” Department is seeking a Lead Expert Electrical Components engineer. This role involves driving operational engineering support across Europe and Australia, and optimizing the electrical Balance of Plant, including electrical components, on a portfolio level for wind, solar, and BESS projects. Responsibilities include developing technical standards, evaluating electrical component suppliers, and strategic assessment of products.

Responsibilities include:
  • Operational support:
    • Serve as the global technical authority on electrical components, providing recommendations and managing escalations with a strong stakeholder focus.
    • Establish and approve global standards, specifications, and procedures for electrical components, aligning with safety, business needs, and industry developments.
    • Develop and approve technical designs, root cause analyses, and plant modifications related to electrical components.
    • Support operations with self-performance and OPEX optimization projects.
  • Assessment and evaluation:
    • Lead prequalification of electrical components, analyzing supplier input and reviewing performance, risks, and opportunities.
    • Participate in FATs and factory quality audits.
    • Collaborate with procurement on commercial agreements.
  • Optimization:
    • Identify technical optimization opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
    • Drive standardization of EBOP design.
    • Share best practices across regional teams for LCOE optimization.
    • Foster a community focused on electrical components, promoting standardization and sustainability.
  • Industry influence and external representation:
    • Influence industry trends and standards, contributing to international standard committees.
    • Act as an ambassador to promote the company's engineering excellence externally.
Your profile:
  • Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with high-voltage electrical components.
  • Asset management experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial impacts of engineering decisions and a track record of adding business value.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and intercultural skills.
  • High ethical standards and engagement.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
