Luxoft in Varese, Lombardy, Italy is seeking a Lead Electrical Wiring Systems Engineer for an automotive project with a German OEM. You will design wiring systems, create schematics and 2D/3D layouts, and define how signals and power travel between ECUs, sensors, actuators and HMIs.

The role emphasizes correct wire types, sizes, shielding and insulation, with a focus on CAN/LIN/Ethernet networks, voltage and power distribution, and signal integrity for ADAS/HPC.

Competenze

• Experience in design of wiring systems for automotive environments.
• Understanding of CAN, LIN and Ethernet vehicle networks.
• Ability to size wires, assess voltage drop and protection concepts.

Ensure the development of electric and electronic hardware solutions with wellbalanced performance steps, delivering with quality and with modular scalability to support the transition to platform all company brands

Responsibilities

Design of Wiring Systems

Creates schematics and 2D/3D layouts of wiring harnesses.

Defines how electrical signals and power are routed between components (ECUs, sensors, actuators, HMIs, etc.).

Ensures correct wire types, sizes, shielding, and insulation.

Skills

Must have

Understanding of:

• Voltage, current, power distribution
• Signal types (analog, digital, high-speed data like Ethernet)

Ability to:

• Calculate wire sizing and voltage drop
• Ensure correct fusing and protection concepts

Knowledge of:

• Vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)

General requirement

Solid understanding of:

• Electrical fundamentals (voltage, current, power)
• Wiring systems and circuit design

Knowledge of:

• Vehicle communication systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)

Basic understanding of:

• Signal integrity (especially for ADAS / HPC)

Location: Preference will be given to candidates based near Turin, to enable at least one day per week of on-site presence. However, we will also consider candidates based in other Italian cities, with the possibility of a fully remote contract.
